Today’s quote comes to us from Donald Trump Jr.
Mr Trump’s quote references comments by jay robert pritzker (who likes to be known as “jb”), the Governor of Illinois.
On Sunday, pritzker was speaking in New Hampshire – a place that has one of the earliest presidential primaries in the country (“jb”, you see, seems to think he is presidential material).
And this is what he said about President Donald Trump:
“Never before in my life have I called for mass protests, for mobilization, for disruption. But I am now. These Republicans cannot know a moment of peace.
“They have to understand we will fight their cruelty with every megaphone and microphone that we have. We must castigate them on the soapbox and punish them at the ballot box.
“We will never join so many Republicans in the special place in hell reserved for quislings and cowards. We will relegate their portraits to the museum halls reserved for tyrants and traitors.”
Donald Trump Jr’s response?
“Are you trying to inspire a 3rd assassination attempt on my dad? Two wasn’t enough for you?”
Evidently, Trump Jr. feels that a public figure calling for mobilization, disruption, not a moment of peace and charactering Republicans – clearly focusing on his father – as quislings, cowards, tyrants and traitors, is an invitation to violence; to exacting physical revenge on the people he is talking about.
I award Donald Trump Jr. Quote Of The Day honors for his restraint.
I think I might get 30 days in jail for the way I would have responded to this beyond obnoxious, loudmouthed agitating clown.
