Just when you thought there couldn’t possibly be another definition of racism, that there couldn’t be another way to further trivialize what should be a major concern in the United States…
…we now find out that if you want the national COVID-19 lockdown to either be reduced or ended, that’s racist too.
I kid you not.

A panel of CNN guests accused Americans who want to see their country reopen of hating certain minority groups and wanting “more black and brown people to die.” The ignorant and hateful comments were spewed on Joy Reid’s Sunday episode of “AM Joy.”
“One thing I think is really interesting is how these protests have started after all the headlines last week or so about the disproportionate effect the virus is having in communities of color, and so when I look at these protests what I see are a bunch of white people essentially saying ‘oh, it’s affecting those people, so why do I have to change my life for them,'” said (Boston Globe opinion writer Renee) Graham.
Senior writer for The Root, Michael Harriot, then told Joy Reid that the protestors are saying “quite clearly” that they “want more black and brown people to die.”
“If you want the government to open up, then you want more black and brown people to die,” Harriot added.
See, it isn’t that people – of all colors – do not want to be quarantined in their homes. It isn’t that people – of all colors – need to go back to work, or businesses -owned by people of all colors – will go under or people – of all colors – need to be able to buy goods and services again.
No, it is a conspiracy among White people to kill off Black and Brown people.
To call this looney-tunes would be an insult to Daffy Duck and Yosemite Sam. But there it is, seriously being discussed on Joy Ann Reid’s CNN “news” show without, so far as I can tell, anyone disagreeing.
And who does unmitigated garbage like this hurt most? Ironically, and tragically, it hurts Black and Brown people who actually are victims of racism.
Why? Because when everything, no matter how ludicrous, is ascribed to racism, incidents of real racism are less likely to be taken seriously. “Yeah, we know, it’s racism. With you, everything is racism, so this is too. Yawn”.
I wonder if parent company WarnerMedia News and CNN Worldwide’s President Jeff Zucker are proud of a show like this.
I wonder if they are happy with the overall direction of CNN – which (other than a short-term respite due to the COVID-19 crisis) is that its ratings have dropped through a trap door over recent years, and become a fraction of what Fox News Channel and MSNBC get.
Based on the fact that there have been no major changes in CNN programming recently, I would have to conclude that this suits them fine.
Lots of luck on that.
If things were how these race hustlers say it is, why do White people allow any freedom for Black and Brown bodies? Why doesn’t every White person have a personal Black or Brown slave? Why are countless dollars spent on Black and Brown communities, specifically because they are minorities, by a White Racist country???
Are these people liars or just really really stupid???
