How much of an amateur is Mich McConnell\’s opponent, Alison Lundergran Grimes?
Enough so that she actually ducked answering a reporter who asked “Did you vote for President Obama in 2008 and 2012”?
No joke: she spent 40 seconds doing as clumsy a dance as you will come across, to avoid responding to that most basic of basic questions.
Want to see for yourself? Ok, here you go:
Grimes is a Democrat. I assure you everyone has an idea of who she voted for….and it ain\’t McCain or Romney.
For her to avoid admitting she did so, and adding something like “I expected more from him and I am very disappointed” which might have conned some voters into thinking she didn\’t know who he was either time, exposes her as not just someone willing to lie by omission, but as a rank amateur of the first (or is it worst) order.
And if you think that\’s just anti-Alison me talking, here is what NBC\’s usually Democrat-friendly Chuck Todd had to say about her:
“Theidea of, sorry, even to say you regret your vote that would almostseem as disingenuous. But that is, and Kentuckians expect her to casta tough vote on anything? Is she ever going to answer a toughquestion on anything? You want to be a U.S. Senator? If you can\’t say, if you can\’t find a way to stand behind your party\’s President, you can disagree with him but you can\’t answer that basic questionand you come across looking that ridiculous? I think she disqualifiedherself. I really do. I think she disqualified herself.”
I disagree with Mr. Todd only in that, ridiculous as Grimes came across, she did not disqualify herself for the senate. Even more amateurish people than Alison Lundergran Grimes have served in that chamber.
But I think he and I will agree that, even if there were a mild possibility she could have upset Mitch McConnell until now, this laughable performance – coupled with the Project Veritas videos of her own campaign workers indicating she lies every time she claims to support the coal industry – will seal the deal with Kentucky voters next month.
Are you ready for a Majority Leader named McConnell instead of Reid? The odds are getting better by the day.
