Maybe I’m fooling myself…but I think this is so big, and getting so much bigger, that even an adoring mainstream media will not be able to downplay and/or bury the new revelations any more.
From Stephen Drinan’s article at the Washington Times, we have this
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s use of a secret email to conduct official business broke a number of department policies, an inspector general concluded in a report sent to Capitol Hill Wednesday that also suggests she used the account to try to hide her communications from the public.
The 83-page report, obtained by The Washington Times, is devastating in its evaluation of Mrs. Clinton’s behavior, saying it can find no record of her getting approval from either security or legal staffers for her unique arrangement. The report also undercuts many of her campaign’s explanations for her use of the system, dismisses comparisons to her predecessors’ email use, and points to repeated hacking attempts that she failed to report.
What does this tell you?
If your answer is that Hillary Clinton is lying to our faces about the email scandal, you are dead-on correct.
So far, media have allowed Clinton to deflect scandals, both known and suspected, using the most sophomoric, flimsy excuses. For example:
-Not releasing the transcripts of her $250,000 speeches to a who’s-who of Wall Street until everyone else first releases theirs (what does anyone else have to do with this, and why wouldn’t she release them unless the content of those speech made her out to be a lying fraud?);
-Refusing to respond to Trump attacks on the sexual depredations of her husband/her personal activities which may have enabled those depradations, on the grounds that “she won’t sink to his level (i.e. no answer at all).
Will they let her get away with this too? Will they allow her to just toss out a few factless, meaningless generalities and pretend that is good enough?
In a more perfect world, Ms. Clinton would be held to the fire on every scandal – as Donald Trump is and should be.
How much longer will Queen Hillary get special dispensation? Until after election day?
Sickeningly enough, don’t bet against it.
