It never seems to end. When nailing Donald Trump is the objective, neutral reporting goes right out the window.
This latest example comes to us from the British Broadcasting Company (BBC) – barely a month after it apologized for intentionally editing Trump’s comments on January 6, 2021, to make it seem like he encouraged the crowd he was addressing to “fight like hell”, thus creating the fraudulent conception that he encouraged an insurrection that day.
This time the BBC is apologizing for last year’s report, in which it suggested Trump wanted his antagonist, Rep. Liz Cheney, to be shot.
From Michael D. Carroll’s article for London’s Daily Telegraph:
The BBC has come under fire for falsely claiming US President Donald Trump called for one of his leading critics Liz Cheney, to be shot in the face. In an internal memo reported on by The Telegraph, BBC News acknowledged that its coverage had been inaccurate, but the broadcaster failed to issue a public correction.
In the days leading up to the US presidential election in November 2022, a presenter on BBC World News America alleged that Trump “appeared to suggest Liz Cheney should face a firing squad for her stance on foreign policy.”
Another presenter on the BBC News channel asked a guest, “He [Trump] is out there on the campaign trail saying he wants people to shoot Liz Cheney in the face… Is that the sort of thing women react well to?”
The presidential year error aside, what we have here is another “gotcha” attempt at Trump that is based on a lie.
What else is new?
I will end by reposting my blog of November 1, 2024 (not 2022), when the fraudulent claim first was put out there. Please pay special attention to the second paragraph, where I enumerate a partial list of the other lies media were also peddling about Trump):

The short-form version of this blog is: no. He did not.
We are being lied to by Democrats and their countless mainstream media acolytes. Again. Just as we were about Russian collusion. And the claim that Trump called nazis and White supremacists “very fine people”. And the claim that he told people to inject themselves with bleach. And the claim that he said he’d be a dictator from day one. And the claim that he called for a “bloodbath”. Etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. ad infinitum, ad nauseam.
Now the details: i.e. what Trump actually did say.
After pointing out that Liz Cheney supported the war in Iraq, Trump said this:
“She’s a radical war hawk. Let’s put her with a rifle standing there with nine barrels shooting at her, ok? Let’s see how she feels about it. You know, when the guns are trained at her face. You know, they’re all war hawks when they’re sitting in Washington in a nice building saying, oh, gee, we’ll, let’s send — let’s send 10,000 troops right into the mouth of the enemy.”
As anyone with even a mild level of reading comprehension can clearly see, Trump was not – repeat, NOT – saying that Liz Cheney should be executed. He was saying that she has no problem sending our military into life or death situations while she’s safely out of harm’s way, but she’d feel differently if she was the one in jeopardy.
Can someone show me where Trump says she should be shot? Executed. Can someone read me the part in that verbatim quote where he says that?
I’ll wait. And the wait will be from here to eternity, because he said no such thing.

Let me point out again, that Trump did NOT call for violence against Liz Cheney. His point – clear as day – was that she had no problem sending others off to risk death in war, but would feel differently if she were in the same situation she put them in.
So add this latest lie to the voluminous, and still growing, swamp of lies being told by Democrats about Trump – secure in the knowledge that most of what passes for our mainstream media will have no problem whatsoever repeating it, like the lapdog acolytes they are.
I’d call it a disgrace. But it doesn’t even rise to that bottom-dwelling level.
I can only hope the public sees through this….even though I know that at least some will not.
