TARGET’S TRANSGENDER BATHROOM YEAR

This week marks a year since Target, the USA’s second largest retailer, announced a policy which would allow men who claimed to be transgender (no proof necessary) to use women’s rest rooms.

On the exact day of that announcement, April 19th, 2016, Target’s stock closed at $83.98 a share.  The Dow Jones Average closed at 18,050.07.

As I type this (just before 1PM Eastern time) Target is at $53.22 a share.  The Dow Jones Average is at 20,558.00.

Therefore, in the year since Target’s decision to allow any male who claimed transgender status to enter its women’s bathrooms:

-the stock market has gone up 14%, and

-Target’s stock has gone down 36%.

Make of it what you will.
