Neither NBC nor its all-left-all-the-time cohort MSNBC have any problem at all hiring partisan Democrats as part of their “news” teams.
But a Republican? Heaven forfend.
Ronna McDaniel was hired to be a lonely voice from the other side at NBC and MSNBC. But the one-side-only crowd there rose up in protest. Former NBC Meet The Press host Chuck Todd condemned her hiring on-air. At MSNBC’s Morning Joe, Joe Scarborough and his co-host/wife Mika Brzezinski, announced on-air that they would never allow her on their show. And so on.
So, with an employee insurrection in full swing, NBC did what any organization serious about professional, neutral journalism would do: they told their employees that this was a professional news venue. A place where all sides are presented. Where all sides are heard, so that viewers can make up their own mi…..
….oh, wait. That’s not what they did.
What they did do was apologize to their all-Democrat/left-all-the-time insurrectionist employees, and fire McDaniel before she ever spent one second there.
Professional journalism? All sides heard? Uh……………nope.
What does that tell you about NBC/MSNBC? And does it tell you anything different from what you would expect at ABC or CBS?
That’s worth thinking about – especially when you are asked to accept what they offer you as neutral coverage.
