I doubt that I will have to explain this latest example of real racism.
With a major tip of my imaginary hat to Tom Blumer of newsbusters.org, this is an ad – a real ad – placed by the University of Louisville:
I know what you\’re thinking. This has to be some kind of a goof.
The University of Louisville, could not possibly trumpet its dedication to equal opportunity and diversity by posting a job which specifically excludes all White people and all Asians (among others).
But no, this is not a goof. It is real. And, according to Blumer, the University of Louisville ran this ad for two months before being shamed into removing it.
If any university – or any business, big or small – ever ran an ad like this and excluded African American, Hispanic American and Native American Indian applicants in favor of Whites or Asians, you can bet your bottom dollar it would have been outed – and attacked – in about two seconds flat. There would be massive news coverage and lawsuits up the wazoo.
Not here, though. Two months of posting this ad, which was dropped only because of a couple of local stories about it, not because of any national coverage. Why? Because there wasn\’t any.
I have often said that it is amazing how much racism is spewed by people who claim to be against racism. This is about as classic an example as you will ever find.
Real racism. It comes in all forms from all sources. No group is immune to it or from it. Certainly not a “major” University, which thinks that it is fighting racism by creating more of it.
What pathetic clowns.
