Lebanon enters war against Israel
You just read the headline of this “news” story published yesterday in Pravda.
What does it communicate? That the country of Lebanon has is now at war against Israel? That certainly is what it communicates to me.
Except…
…it is a complete misrepresentation of what happened and who was responsible for it.
In reality, what happened – as you find out if you read further into the article – was that hezbollah, the Iran-sponsored/Iran-funded terrorist group that operates out of southern Lebanon – NOT the Lebanese government – shot several missiles towards northern Israel. Israel sources say one was intercepted and the others fell in uninhabited areas.
Does that come across as “Lebanon enters the war against Israel” to you?
But if you went no further than Pravda’s headline, you would “know” that the countries of Lebanon and Israel were now at war.
This is the quality of “news” Pravda provides to Russians.
And who runs Pravda? boris komotsky, a lifelong communist and member of Russia’s State Duma “legislative” body).
Surprised? I doubt it.
