POLITICIZING OUR OIL RESERVES

Remember when Joe Biden took office and immediately kiboshed the Keystone Pipeline, killed off oil drilling, etc?

I’ll bet you do.

And remember that the price of oil skyrocketed?  That gasoline prices more than doubled?

I’ll bet you do.

And remember that, to pretend he was fighting high oil prices – i.e. to artificially lower them and claim he accomplished something – Biden depleted our strategic oil reserve (SOR) to a dangerous low?

I’ll bet you do.

And remember when he replaced the SOR oil and made us safer again?

Uh…..I’ll bet you don’t.

You don’t, because he never did.  Our SOR currently still sit at about half of where they were when Biden took office.

And in case you missed this – because most of our dutifully complicit mainstream media buried it (election year, you see) – here is the latest SOR news, from Thomas Catenacci’s article at foxbusiness.com:

The Biden administration has abruptly canceled a plan announced last month to purchase up to three million barrels of oil as part of its effort to refill the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR).

The SPR — which Congress established for emergency situations — currently contains 363.6 million barrels of oil, a 43% decline from January 2021 when President Biden took office, federal data shows. Biden began depleting the reserve in late 2021 to combat high fuel prices.

The Department of Energy said that while it remains committed to refilling the SPR, it would pull back its most recent solicitation for oil amid increasing prices. On March 14, DOE’s Office of Petroleum Reserves announced the solicitation for three million barrels of oil to be delivered in August and September to its Bayou Choctaw site in Louisiana, one of four major SPR storage facilities.

So there you have it.  Biden & Co. severely depleted our SOR in late 2021 – 2022 (midterm elections coming up; got to get those prices lower, even at the cost of lowering our emergency reserves).  And there it has largely stayed (lucky us, we didn’t need those reserves.)

But now it’s election season again.  Can’t be spending all that money to buy up oil and protect the country, can we?  So let’s just leave the SOR where it is.  And if something should happen, we can always blame Trump, right?  Hey it’s worked before, it can work again.

That is our Strategic Oil Reserves situation right now.  57% capacity, 100% politicized.

I thought you might want to know.
