PARAPROSDOKIANS

A paraprosdokian is a figure of speech in which the last part of a sentence, phrase or thought takes you in a different, unexpected direction than the first part suggests.

Since this is election day, and on election day there often are surprises – plus, just because I think we probably need the comic relied – I am posting good ones below:

-We never really grow up; we only learn how to act in public.

-Hospitality: making your guests feel like they’re at home, even if you wish they were.

-You do not need a parachute to skydive. You only need a parachute to skydive twice.

-Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.

-To steal ideas from one person is plagiarism. To steal from many is research.

-have not yet begun to procrastinate.

And one that just may encapsulate why we need comic relief more today than most other days:

-Why do Americans choose from just two people to run for president and 50 for Miss America?
