I greatly admire Michael Moore. Not as a political thinker, that\’s for sure. But as a niche marketer.
Moore figured out a long time ago that if he positioned himself as a lunatic leftwinger – we\’re talking light years beyond just about anyone else – most of the country would avidly dislike him, most of the rest would either dislike, disregard, or mildly like him, and the remaining one or two percent would love him, embrace him….and, most importantly, buy into whatever he is selling.
With over 300,000,000 people in the country, that means over 6,000,000 people….including millions of adults….are there for him no matter what. You can make a lot of money with millions of people that strongly on your side.
How does Michael Moore do it? Well, let\’s take the current Flint, Michigan water scandal as an example.
Flint, Michigan has a special meaning for Mr. Moore. He tells us he was born and raised there. And the Moore-lovers actually believe this…though the truth is, he was raised outside of Flint, in the far more middle-to-upper-class suburb of Davison, Michigan.
But, parlaying his sleight of hand on where he grew up, Moore has used his “hometown” status to latch onto the water scandal with a vengeance.
The problem? His vengeance is not directed at the people who created this scandal – all of them Democrats. It is directed at the Republican Governor of Michigan – which means he does not give a damn about the people of Flint, he gives a damn about making political hay out of their misfortune for his own political motives. And, I am betting for personal gain – first in publicity and, more than likely, later in a new “documentary” he can profit by.
To remind you: The hefty water charges that caused Flint to change its water source to the Flint River, were from Detroit – run exclusively by Democrats. The Flint Emergency Manager, then Mayor, and the Flint City Council, which voted 7-1 to use the Flint River as its water source are all Democrats. The Midwest EPA director who knew the water was bad and withheld that information for months while Flint Residents used it (and has resigned in shame) was a Democrat, toiling for the current Democrat administration.

Unfortunately, the honest answer to your offer of help is,sadly, you can\’t.
The reason you can\’t help is that you cannot reverse theirreversible brain damage that has been inflicted upon every single child inFlint. The damage is permanent. There is no medicine you can send, no doctor orscientist who has any way to undo the harm done to thousands of babies,toddlers and children (not to mention their parents). They are ruined for life,and someone needs to tell you the truth about that. They will, forever, sufferfrom various neurological impediments, their IQs will be lowered by at least 20points, they will not do as well in school and, by the time they reachadolescence, they will exhibit various behavioral problems that will land anumber of them in trouble, and some of them in jail.
There\’s your answer. Not only is the Flint water scandal exclusively the fault of a Republican, but its consequences now stand as an excuse for every bad thing that every person in Flint ever does or will do in his or her entire life. And if you read Moore\’s entire commentary, you will find that to be just the tip of the iceberg.
Is this lunacy on steroids? Yes it is.
But is it entirely salable to the one or two percent who love Michael Moore unconditionally and will abide by his every word and every opinion he pumps out at them? Yes it is.
That is how Michael Moore has gotten fabulously wealthy (yes, just like Hillary Clinton, Moore rails against the super-rich, and hopes you are too ignorant to know he is one of them), and how he intends to get even wealthier.
Now THAT is a great niche marketer.
If I wore a hat I would tip it to Michael Moore. Who else could pull this off so successfully? No one I know.
