During the 2006 midterm election campaigns, when George Bush was President and Republicans were apparently going to get their clocks cleaned, there was a certain level of coverage from the three major networks, CBS, NBC and ABC.
During the 2014 midterm election campaigns, now that Barack Obama is President and Democrats are apparently going to get their clocks cleaned, there is a certain level of coverage from the three major networks, CBS, NBC and ABC.
Probably about the same level of coverage, right?
Not if you know anything about the degree of media bias in this country.
Here is the coverage for each campaign, as compiled by the (invaluable) Media Research Center:
FromSeptember 1 through October 27, 2014, the Big Three network eveningnewscasts combined have only provided 35 midterm election stories, 24full reports and 11 stories mentioning the campaign. During that sametime in 2006, the same broadcasts offered 209 election stories (123full reports, 86 mentions/briefs).
Anyone still interested in trying to convince me there is no bias at CBS, NBC and ABC?
Don\’t even bother trying.
