Remember tim walz? The two-time Governor of Minnesota who Kamala Harris (actually, whoever was running her presidential campaign) decided should be her Vice Presidential candidate/one heartbeat away from the presidency?
The guy who spent years not seeing (or – worse – seeing, but allowing) rampant multi-billion dollar fraud in the state’s welfare and day care systems?
The guy who first claimed he didn’t know a thing about the massive fraud and then assured us he was acting aggressively against it….years and years after it had already sucked so much money out of the state’s taxpayers?
The guy who has become a liability to the Democrat hierarchy? (Aha! NOW we’re getting to his real problem!!)
Well, walz has called a news conference for this morning.
Based on a number of media reports, there is an excellent chance walz will announce he is dropping out of the race to be re-elected for a third term as Governor. And there are also rumors that he might even resign/not finish out his current term.
If so, will that make things better for Minnesotans? Frankly no; not if the same opportunities for fraud remain in place. Not if the same people other than walz are still in power.
But it certainly will make things better for Democrats, because they can then try to remove his incompetence, and possible involvement in the fraud, out of the news: “Walz? He’s gone. Why are you talking about him now? What’s wrong with you?”
More on this after we see/hear what actually does happen at the news conference. Until it take place we can’t know for sure. (But I wouldn’t put much money on the possibility that he’s announcing a 2028 presidential run.)
