keith ellison is a contender – a leading contender – to chair the Democratic National Committee.
Over the past week or so I have put up material about his past (almost 10 year) association with louis farrakhan’s “Nation Of Islam” that would disqualify him for this post…if the Democrat Party was in any way sincere about being against racism and anti-Semitism, that is.
But not one peep of opposition that I have yet seen.
Well, here’s some more disqualifying material for Democrats to either care about or ignore, excerpted from Chuck Ross’s article at dailycaller.com:
Minnesota Rep. Keith Ellison, the favorite to take over as chairman of the Democratic National Committee, campaigned in 2009 for a Libya-born activist who once called on Palestinians to embrace “the jihad way” in order to get free of Israeli control.
The activist, Esam Omeish, a former candidate for Virginia state delegate, has also praised one of the founders of Hamas and commended the work of Palestinian suicide bombers
Progressive liberals, including Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders and Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, have pushed for Ellison to be named as head of the DNC. But Ellison’s critics have pointed to his links to extremist organizations such as the Nation of Islam — he first ran for office in 1998 under the name Keith Ellison-Muhammad — and his comments regarding Israel as cause for concern.
For over a week we have been inundated with Democrats’ calls for Donald Trump to get rid of Steve Bannon, on the grounds that he is a White supremacist and anti-Semite. The sum total of their “evidence” is a couple of uncorroborated anecdotal incdents, countered by definitive statements that Mr. Bannon is no such thing from people like Alan Dershowitz, David Horowitz, Dennis Prager and others who would most assuredly speak up if any of those allegations were true.
But here we have a “man” with an undeniable, indisputable, years-long link to a group that is definitively Black supremacist and anti-Semitic. Yet the same Democrats screaming for Bannon’s head have not a word to say about it.
In other words, racism and anti-Semitism is just fine, as long as it’s our guy.
In previous blogs, I have pointed out the obvious fact that this election has put the Democrats in terrible shape.
But if they actually put keith ellison in charge of the DNC? They will be in even worse shape than I thought they were. And they will have no one to blame but themselves.
