Just how deep in the tank is NBC News, when it comes to protecting Hillary Clinton?
If I haven’t given enough answers to that question over the past months, here’s another one.
Earlier today I blogged about Marcel Lehel Lazar (“Guccifer”), a Rumanian hacker who was extradited to the United States, telling Fox News that he had hacked Hillary Clinton’s email server, that it was easy to do, and anyone could do it.
Lucky for Fox News to have a scoop like that, right?
Wrong. Fox News did not have a scoop on “Guccifer” easily hacking Ms. Clinton’s server. NBC News did.
How do I know this? Because yesterday – the same day Fox put out the information you just read – we got this, directly from NBC News Dateline (the bold print is mine):
Previews of Cynthia McFadden’s Interview with Hacker Known as “Guccifer” Air Tonight and Tomorrow on “NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt”
NEW YORK – May 4, 2016 – Notorious hacker Marcel Lehel Lazar (also known as “Guccifer”) tells NBC News correspondent Cynthia McFadden in his first-ever U.S. television interview that Hillary Clinton’s server was “not safe at all” in the Sunday premiere of “On Assignment,” a special six-episode series from “Dateline NBC.”
Guccifer, who discovered Clinton’s private email account after hacking into the e-mail of Clinton confidante Sidney Blumenthal, spoke to McFadden from a Bucharest prison. When pressed by NBC News, Gufficer could provide no documentation to back up his claims, nor did he ever release anything on-line supporting his allegation, as he’d done frequently in prior hacks. Furthermore, the FBI’S review of the Clinton server logs showed no sign of hacking, according to a source familiar with the case.
CYNTHIA McFADDEN:
When Hillary Clinton says that her server is absolutely safe – you’re laughing.
MARCEL LEHEL LAZAR (GUCCIFER):
That’s a lie.
McFADDEN:
That’s a lie?
GUCCIFER:
Yes.
McFADDEN:
It’s not safe.
GUCCIFER:
It’s not safe at all.
Uh…..if “Guccifer” spoke to Cynthia McFadden from a Bucharest prison, he did it over a month ago. That is because “Guccifer” was extradited to the United States on March 31, and made a court appearance in Alexandria, Virginia on April 1.
In other words, assuming the very last thing “Guccifer” did before leaving Bucharest was speak to Ms. McFadden (which, of course, was not the way of things), NBC has had this news for 35 days. That is five full weeks.
So for all that time…and, not incidentally, during all those primary elections…information that a major league hacker claimed to have easily compromised Hillary Clinton’s email server was intentionally withheld by NBC News.…and released only because Fox News got its own interview with him, reported his statement, and therefore NBC could not suppress it anymore.
But, even here, please note how hard NBC works to exonerate Ms. Clinton: “…the FBI’S review of the Clinton server logs showed no sign of hacking, according to a source familiar with the case. “
That’s nice. An unnamed source says the FBI review showed no signs of hacking.
Here’s a question for the geniuses at NBC: Do you think for one minute that a country with serious intelligence capabilities would not have a way of hiding their incursions into Clinton’s email account? Do you think for one minute that they would do it in a way that is detectable?
Do you really think the intelligence arms of, say, Iran, or Russia, or Israel, or France, or any number of other countries which would have been thrilled to know all our secrets for four years – maybe even the “jayvee squad” at ISIS – would do it that incompetently?
Who do you think runs those agencies? The Obama administration?
I started this blog by asking how deep in the tank NBC News was for Hillary Clinton.
Based on it’s handling of the “Guccifer” story, I’d say start at the bottom, and then start scraping.

Who do you think runs those agencies? The Obama administration?
Hahaha I love it, that has to be the best line I have read.
I am going to look for opportunities to use it.
