It has been a little over a year since Gretchen Whitmer became the Governor of Michigan. I wonder how the the states’ voters feel about that these days.
Fresh on the heels of shutting down the state in a way that is guaranteed to put countless small businesses out of business forever, here is the latest Whitmer-created fiasco, via Collin Anderson and Brent Scher’s article for the Washington Free Beacon (freebeacon.com):
Democratic governor Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan announced late Tuesday that the state was rescinding a contract to track the spread of the coronavirus that she had awarded to a Democratic consulting firm, according to Crain’s Detroit.
The organization, Great Lakes Community Engagement, is run by Democratic political consultant Mike Kolehouse, who planned to use a software vendor affiliated with a Democratic data firm that is working for the governor’s reelection campaign. Whitmer’s decision to hire Democratic political operatives to run a public health project sparked immediate backlash, the Washington Free Beacon reported just hours before Whitmer’s office said she had terminated the contract.
Kolehouse is the owner of K2K Consulting, an umbrella organization tied to both Great Lakes Community Engagement and Kolehouse Strategies. Both have done extensive field work for Democratic causes. Kolehouse in turn retained as a partner in the contract-tracing operation an arm of the Democratic consulting firm NGP VAN, which is currently working with Whitmer’s reelection campaign. NGP VAN said it had not been contracted by the state but declined further comment.
According to a copy of the contract obtained by Crain’s, Great Lakes Community Engagement began working on the project on April 1, nearly three weeks before the project was announced publicly.
What a great idea! Capitalize on the COVID-19 crisis by handing over a data-gathering effort – no competitive bidding, just hand it over – to a Democrat-connected firm that would be able to use it for political purposes.
And just in case anyone doubted the fix was in, we find that the Democrat political machine started working on it three weeks before the public even knew it was handed to them on a silver platter.
The article also points out that there is buzz about Joe Biden possibly calling on Whitmer to be his running mate – a job Biden has publicly told us will only be offered to women/no men need apply (that’s not gender bias, you see, because the correct gender is being discriminated against).
With Joe Biden in his current mental state (his latest is confusing Memorial Day with Labor Day), who knows? A scandal like this might cause him to move her to the front of the line.
For Michiganders, the good news would be that it might rid them of the mistake they made in November, 2018.
Capitalize on the COVID-19 crisis
I am sure she isn’t the only one. We seem to elect really awful representatives. Here in California Newsom spent a billion dollars with no oversight to buy masks from china. He already sent them half the money. When asked to see the contract, he said no.
Yowzah. Many of us Americans remember Govenator Gretcheez Democrat response to our President’s State of the Union address in February 2020. She is another waste of tax-payers money and obviously her Heroin would be Nancy Pelosi. Michigan Citizens hopefully will wake up before November 2020.
