I will have to check the online video or the transcript (this may take some time, since my bride and I will be out for the day), but….
….unless I’m mis-remembering, when ABC host George Stephanopoulos asked his guest, Vice Presidential nominee Tim Kaine, about the investigation of computers and cell phones taken from the household formerly shared by Hillary Clinton confidant Huma Abedin and her husband, Anthony Weiner …
…Kaine, in trying to minimize its importance, said (paraphrased) “We don’t even know if it’s Huma Abedin’s computer”.
If I’m not remembering correctly, than I’ll use this blog to retract and apologize (just partially, because I’m not definitively claiming he said it).
But, if I’m remembering this correctly, Tim Kaine just tried to excuse the investigation away by suggesting the emails FBI investigators came across, were not on Huma Abedin’s computer which she shared with now-estranged husband Anthony Weiner, they were on Anthony Weiner’s personal computer.
Does Anthony Weiner have security clearance? Does he have any right to see State Department emails of ANY kind, classified or otherwise?
If I’m remembering this correctly – and, again, I’m not 100% sure – that not only does not make it better, it makes it far worse.
When I know for sure one way or the other, I’ll post it here.
IMMEDIATE UPDATE: George Stephanopoulos, during a panel discussion, just said that Huma Abedin is claiming it wasn’t her computer. I therefore assume out-of-hand, that what I thought I heard was correct. Even if it wasn’t, THIS was.
Let me repeat what I wrote earlier: if it is Anthony Weiner’s computer, not hers, that makes it far worse. It means she was using someone else’s non-secure computer to conduct State Department business.
I’m sure mainstream media will be all over this tomorrow…….you can just bet on it. (feel free to wipe the sarcasm off your monitor any time).
