Congratulations to the Brooklyn Nets for pulling out a 109-101 victory over the Detroit Pisto……
…..oh, wait, that’s not the big sports news of the night, is it?
GREAT congratulations to the Chicago Cubs, for coming back from a 3-1 deficit and sweeping Cleveland in Cleveland to win an 8-7 squeaker in 10 innings (and one rain delay).
For the first time since 1908 – when Theodore Roosevelt was President and there was no federal income tax – The Cubbies are world champions!!!!
Great news for Chicago. Terrible news for Cleveland, which has not won since 1948 (Truman was President then and, yes, we paid federal taxes).
To Chicago – congratulations
To Cleveland – in the words of countless Brooklyn Dodgers fans of old…”Wait ’til next year”.
