Much of our mainstream media have this thing about ongoingly featuring Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY); a fourth term congressperson who has yet to get so much as one bill through committee, voted on and enacted into law.
Why? Is she really that significant?
Tell you what: let’s consider the speech she made before a crowd of Muslim men at an Eid event this past Wednesday, accompanied by New York City Mayor zohran mamdani.
Ocasio-Cortez donned a hijab-looking scarf and addressed the crowd. So did Mamdani.
Now look at David Strom’s article for hotair.com, which features videos of Mamdani speaking to a rapt audience…and Ocasio-Cortez in front of the same audience, which largely ignores her and talks among themselves as she is speaking.
Did this self-impressed waste of congressional space really think a group of observant Muslim men would care about what she had to say? About anything?
See if you agree with Mr. Strom when he writes this:
While I don’t, in principle, object to politicians respectfully adopting traditions for the sake of their audience, there is something especially bizarre about AOC, a truly radical feminist, wearing a hijab to speak in front of a crowd that appears to be exclusively male, and largely uninterested in what she has to say.
AOC spends an inordinate amount of time condemning people who have no intention of oppressing women, but when given the chance, she embraces a crowd that is filled with people who do.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is pathetic. But she is completely hard-left, thus a heroine in today’s Democrat Party…and a great many venues among our mainstream media.
What does that tell you?
