Poor Adam Schiff (D-CA). He wants to nail Donald Trump. He needs to nail Donald Trump. But James Comey’s pre-hearing release, and the hearing itself, have done nothing other than confirm there is nothing to nail Trump on.
What to do, what to do.
Hey, here’s an idea. Just ignore all the facts and play lets-pretend instead. Yeah, that’s the ticket.
From Lauretta Brown’s article at townhall.com:
Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee, said Wednesday evening in an interview with the Washington Post that President Trump’s behavior as described by former FBI director James Comey in a prepared statement ahead of his testimony was “certainly evidence of interference or obstruction.”
“It is certainly evidence of interference or obstruction,” Schiff said adding, “the question I think is where does this action fit in with other actions of the president and what does the complete picture that emerges look like.”
Comey’s statement says Trump told him he hoped he could “let go” of the FBI’s investigation into former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn and details an exchange in which Trump asked for Comey’s “honest loyalty.”
James Comey said in so many words that he did not consider this obstruction of justice. And that no one ever asked him about Flynn again – which surely would have happened if Trump was leaning on him to make the investigation go away.
But none of this can count to Adam Schiff. He wants to nail Donald Trump. He needs to nail Donald Trump. And facts are getting in the way.
Have you ever been to Disneyland? Strolled thought Fantasyland?
If not, just reread Mr. Schiff’s desperate attempt to squeeze something out of the nothing rock. Then assume you’ve been there.
