Dear Mr. President-to be Trump;
I would like to make a few observations about you (and Vice President-to-be Pence) being crapped on by the media and entertainment industries:
-You brought a lot of this on yourself. You spent months very publicly dishing out personal insults and unseemly, even disgusting attacks on people you didn’t like. When it comes to this treatment, you live in a house not just with a glass ceiling, but with glass walls, floors and furniture.
If you don’t like such treatment, don’t be an enthusiastic practitioner of it.
-You don’t like being crapped on by these people? Get over it and get over it fast. They hate your guts and, short of pulling off a face mask to show them you’re really Hillary Clinton – or, even better, Bernie Sanders – they’re never going to.
-You have far more important things to occupy your time – now, and through the next four, maybe eight, years – than answering the people who hate you, and will continue to hate you no matter what. It may be trite and cliché-ish to say that, when you answer them, all it does is bring you down to their level. But it also happens to be 100% true.
-Why not just put out a statement saying something along the lines of “I know there are people who hate me and will be happy to tell the world they hate me no matter what I say or do. I accept this as a given, and will now ignore them. They can toss the insults, I’ll run the country. I hope they have a nice day”…
…and actually mean it, and actually do it.
