The Iran nuclear deal is virtually dead; barely even on life support.
All that remains is the Obama Administration\’s harebrained decision to ease of sanctions on Iran before it actually did anything it promised….and mainstream media\’s continuing burial of this information so that voters will not know it ever happened.
Excerpted from Reza Kahlili\’s article at dailycaller.com:
Iranhas thrown up new roadblocks to reaching a deal with the P5+1 worldpowers over its illicit nuclear program.
Threedays of negotiations in the fourth round of Geneva discussions endedFriday in arguments and confrontations when the Iranian teampresented their country\’s new “red lines,” diminishing any hopeby the Obama administration to claim victory in its approach toIran\’s nuclear ambitions, according to reports from Iran.
TheObama administration hoped that with Iranian President Hassan Rouhaniand Foreign Minister Javad Zarif showing an eagerness to solve thenuclear issue and address the West\’s concerns, there would be apossibility for a negotiated solution. An interim agreement pennedlast November in Geneva was touted as a “historic nuclear deal.”
Underthat agreement, Iran – in return for billions of dollars insanctions relief – limited its enrichment activity to the 5 percentlevel with a current stockpile of over 10 tons (enough for sixnuclear bombs), converted much of its 20 percent enriched stockto harmless oxide and agreed to allow more intrusive inspections ofits nuclear plants by the International Atomic Energy Agency, whoseinspections were limited to only agreed-on facilities.
Thefinal draft of the agreement to address all of Iran\’s nuclearfacilities and activities, along with its missile program, wasplanned to be finalized this July.
Thered lines that the Iranian delegation presented…are:
.The expansion ofIranian nuclear researchand development.
. Theacceptance of Iran\’s need for enrichment on a level that feeds theneed of the country (the country has over 19,000 centrifuges, farmore than is needed for peaceful nuclear purposes, and would like toexpand).
. Thepreservation of the Arak heavy-water plant (the plant onceoperational could produce plutonium and serve the ruling clerics witha second path to nuclear weapons).
. Nointerference or limitation to the country\’s military and defensivemeasures (the Islamic regime is under U.N. sanctions for developingballistic missiles and it currently holds the largest missilestockpile in the Middle East with ranges capable of reaching as faras Europe).
. Theremoval of all sanctions at once as opposed to step-by-step relief(the U.N. resolutions and sanctions in place are the results ofefforts by several U.S. administrations and over a decade ofnegotiations).
Accordingto a source within the regime\’s intelligence community, theleadership will not give up its nuclear ambitions, and theRevolutionary Guards see themselves as the dominating power in theMiddle East and beyond. They believe that the Obama administrationwill not engage militarily and that the regime needs to weather thesanctions regime, which has already cracked due to the initial Genevaagreement.
Translation: – Iran took everything it could, walked back every concession the Obama administration claims it made (assuming the Obama administration wasn\’t lying about the concessions in the first place – a definite possibility), and now Iran is making even more demands in return for nothing.
If this is not a major story, I\’ll be damned if I know what is. So why am I reading it at dailycaller.com, and not seeing it on the morning shows or in today\’s New York Times? And will I see it on tonight\’s network news? I wouldn\’t bet one thin dime that it will be there.
I accuse the Obama administration of being inept and incompetent a lot in here. I also use the term “Accomplice Media” a lot.
This is why.
