THE QUOTE OF THE DAY

Considering the subject matter, today\’s quote comes to us from an unlikely source:  NBC White House Correspondent Chuck Todd – whose commentaries are, for the most part, clearly sympathetic to the Democrat side of the aisle.

Mr. Todd was was asked his opinion of Georgia Democrat senate hopeful Michelle Nunn (daughter of the popular former Democrat senator Sam Nunn) when asked whether she would have voted for ObamaCare.  Here is the question and her “answer”:

NBC\’SKASIE HUNT: “Would you have voted for the Affordable Care Act?”

MICHELLENUNN: “At the time the Affordable Health Care Act was passed, I wasworking for Points of Light. I wished that we had more people whohad tried to architect a bipartisan legislation.”

HUNT:”So yes or no?”

NUNN:”So I think it\’s impossible to look back retrospectively andsay what would you have done if you were there?”

Hooboy.  Clumsy, inartful, weasel-worded, and about as sincere as a Happy Kwanzaa card from the local KKK Klavern.

So what did Chuck Todd say about it?  This:

“ButI have to say I thought \’boy, nothing screamed practicedpolitician like that answer Michelle Nunn gave on health care\’. Itjust doesn\’t come across as credible. You know what\’s at leastmore credible is saying well I supported it but I don\’t like this, this, and this. At least there\’s a little credibility when you givethat answer. When you somehow say, well I was busy doing anotherjob…I think that\’s a terrible answer. I think she\’s going tohave to get a better answer.”

Yeah, I know that part of Todd\’s reaction was an attempt to instruct Ms. Nunn on how to more effectively continue ducking the question (I remind you of his obvious lean to the Democrat side).  But at least he got as far as pointing out that her response was not credible and even “terrible”.

I am therefore awarding Chuck Todd Quote Of The Day honors for, however laboriously, squeezing out a bit of negativity toward a Democrat candidate – whom, I have little doubt, he would support if she gets the nomination.

I admit it ain\’t much.  But this is Chuck Todd and he is on NBC…
