Today\’s quote comes to us from a great actor who usually is on the liberal/left side of things – Kevin Spacey.
Mr. Spacey has taken a good look at what is going on in Venezuela, and – despite the love songs fellow actors like Sean Penn and Danny Glover sing to its government, he doesn\’t like it. Not at all.
Here is part of a statement he has just put up on his web site (you can read the entire statement by clicking here):
“Isupport all of the Venezuelans who peacefully and non-violently claimtheir right to self-determination and protest. I hope you willjoin me in asking them not to give up and to not become numb to theviolations and abuses committed against them. We who arefortunate enough to live in freedom must stand up to oppression andinjustice and remind the Venezuelan people that they are on the rightside of history.”
Very, very well said.
Kevin Spacey garners Quote Of The Day honors for the quality of that statement — and for showing, once more, that valid, intelligent points of view can come from both sides of the aisle.
Anyone who decides not to listen to people based on the fact that they usually come to different conclusions, is voluntarily closing his/her mind. What a huge mistake that is.
