THE IRS SCANDAL AND MAINSTREAM MEDIA “COVERAGE”

The (fully politicized) IRS has announced that, after months and months of stonewalling the House Oversight Committee by withholding documents and emails relating to lois lerner\’s involvement in preventing apparently anti-Obama groups from getting the tax-exempt status similar groups on the left seemed to get without major problems, it will now release them.

Whether the thoroughly politicized IRS is truly going to truly provide everything it should, is certainly a cause for speculation.

But here\’s something that is not speculative at all:  this is a scandal.  A huge scandal.

In my opinion, it is a scandal that makes Watergate look small and inconsequential by comparison (think about what happened in each instance, and compare them – including the subsequent cover-up.  You\’ll see).

And yet, from:

-the discovery that the Obama Administration was using the IRS to suppress groups likely to be critical of its policies,

-then the lies that it did not happen at all,

then that the suppression only emanated from a few rogue agents in Cincinnati rather than directly out of Washington DC,

-through the execrable lois “the liar” lerner sitting in front of the House Oversight Committee and telling us she did nothing illegal – but then invoking the 5th amendment to avoid incriminating herself…which makes sense only if she had acted illegally,

-to the stonewalling of these documents (and who knows if the committee will actually get them all now – why should anyone believe the IRS would act honorably after all that has happened to date),

Our wonderful “neutral” mainstream media have virtually blacked out news of this scandal.

Just like they did in Watergate, right?

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie\’s possible (and, so far, completely unproven) involvement in closing a couple of lanes on the George Washington Bridge for 4 days has generated 100 times more coverage from these supposed “journalists” than the entire IRS scandal.

It is bad enough that we have an administration which behaves this way — and a thoroughly compromised toady of an Attorney General who the administration can count on to play ball if this scandal ever gets to his desk.  But, at least we know that there is a clock ticking on their time in power.

Where is the clock for “journalists” who act as that administration\’s Accomplice Media?  When does that start ticking?
