What a great time we had yesterday, at our transcendentally beautiful granddaughter\’s 5th birthday party.
But, me being me, I made the unforgivable mistake of doing a silly thing with her just acquired Elsa-from-frozen wig (I put it on my hand, and pretended it was talking.)
That made me “persona non grandpa” for about a half an hour.
Unfortunately, though I got past that bump in the road, she then put me on mute, using her imaginary remote control, so I no longer could speak to her – which she found hysterically funny.

Does this come across as a complaint of some kind? As me being frustrated in any way? Believe me, it is neither – as any grandparent would completely understand.
Enjoy them when they are young. Once that time of their life is gone, you can never get it back again.
