WILL MSNBC HAVE TO SUSPEND CHRIS MATTHEWS?

Ken Berwitz

There is a petition – signed  by almost 10,000 people, demanding that Chris Matthews be suspended as host of MSNBC\’s “Hardball” show.  Too partisan.

Can you believe those dirty Republica……oh, wait.

Excerpted from Peter Hasson\’s article at dailycaller.com:

A MoveOn.org petition demanding that MSNBC suspend “Hardball” host Chris Matthews has garnered just under 10,000 signatures, evenas the network has refused to address what Huffington Post called a “clearconflict of interest.”

The petition began in response to outrage over Matthews\’ “constant shilling for Hillary Clinton.” The number of petition signees hasalmost tripled in size since The Daily Caller reported that Hillary Clinton\’s biggest donors arebankrolling the congressional campaign of Matthews\’ wife, Kathleen.

One woman who signed the petition said was “crying thinking \’my\’ media source isso biased.” Another petitioner called Matthews\’ behavior an “egregious” conflict of interest. One man wrote: “I won\’t be watching \’Hardball\’ any more, but MSNBC doesn\’t care.” Many other signees added that they would no longer bewatching MSNBC, citing Matthews\’ “conflict of interest.”

Tell you what:  Either moveon.org and the huffingtonpost.com became Republican outposts this weekend, or that attack is from the left.

And it is nothing new either.  If you read hard left sites, like crooksandliars.com among others, you find Matthews is constantly being derided as “tweety” and attacked for his right wing stances.

Matthews, let\’s remember, is a lifelong Democrat who, at one time, was Democrat Speaker Of The House Tip O\’Neill\’s Chief Of Staff.  Attacking him as right wing is a little like attacking Jeb Bush and John Kasich as lefties (which, as if to show this lunacy is non-partisan, some hard-right Republicans actually do).

So far MSNBC has not responded to the attacks on Matthews.  But it seems to me that, the moveon.org and huffingtonpost.com crowd being so integral a part of MSNBC\’s viewer base, the network in general, and Chris Matthews in particular, will have to do so.

Can\’t wait to hear what they have to say…
