As we all have heard many times, Albert Einstein\’s definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over, and expecting different results.
My congratulations to Angela Merkel, Chancellor of Germany, for showing us a new one.
Angela Merkel has warned asylum seekers that they areonly in Germany temporarily and cannot stay long-term.
In a significant change of tone, the German chancellor saideven genuine refugees from Syria and Iraq would have to go home once theconflicts there had ended.
“If there is peace in Syria and Isil is defeated in Iraq, weexpect you to return to your homelands, with the knowledge of what you havereceived from us,” she said.
Mrs Merkel and senior ministers sought over the weekend toreassure German voters that her government had the refugee crisis under controlafter a record 1.1 million asylum seekers arrived last year.
“The numbers need to be reduced further and must not riseagain, especially not in the spring,” Mrs Merkel told a party meeting.
The message was in marked contrast to her previous“open-door” refugee policy, and her earlier slogan of “We can do it”.
Thomas de Maiziere, the interior minister, warned thatGermany would not accept economic migrants posing as refugees.
Are they joking? Do they think the German people are believing this utter BS?
Germany – with a welcome mat enthusiastically put out by Angela Merkel – has been inundated with Islamic migrants, a dramatically disproportionate number of them military age males, many of whom, it seems self-evident, have left their families behind (fend for yourselves, guys. Hope you make it).
These are NOT “Refugees”, but migrants: they have bypassed numerous other countries, numbers of closer Islamic countries, and come to Germany, with its enormous range of government-supplied goods and services. That is not what refugees do, that is what migrants – and opportunistic migrants at that – do.
Angela Merkel thinks she can convince her her people that these opportunistic migrants are going to go leave Germany\’s cornucopia of goodies and go back to Syria, or wherever else they came from, to lead their former hardscrabble lives, “if there is peace in Syria”? Whenever that would be (think in terms of “not in your lifetime”)?
What PLANET is she on? What planet does she think her people are on?
There\’s your new definition of insanity. Somewhere in space and eternity, Albert Einstein is looking on, enviously.
