Donald Trump, this weekend:
“I could stand in the middleof Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, and I wouldn\’t lose any voters, OK?” Trumpsaid to laughter at a rally he held at a Christian college in northwest Iowa. “It\’s like, incredible.”
Translation: I own you idiots, hook, line and sinker. It doesn\’t even matter what I say anymore, you\’re going to love it. I am the greatest.
Incidentally, Trump, who has said in so many words that he knows Cruz is a legal citizen, also said this over the weekend:
“The Democrats are going to sue if he ever got thenomination within two days. There have already been two lawsuits filed, butthey don\’t have standing. I have standing to sue. Can you imagine if I did it?Should I do it just for fun?”
“(Since I\’m going to beat Cruz…) “It\’s probablywhy I want to save the legal fees…If I thought it was going to matter, maybe I would doit, maybe I wouldn\’t.”
Translation: I\’m ahead of Cruz right now, so I am saying I know he\’s a citizen. But if he should make a move I\’ll sue on the grounds that maybe he isn\’t. I can say anything I want, no matter how contradictory from day to day, and I\’ll still be on top. I am the greatest”.
Regardless of how disenchanted people are with establishment politicians – and I do not blame them – I cannot fathom why anyone would ever vote for this egomaniacal, say-one-thing-today-and-another-tomorrow barroom loudmouth caricature.
