#BLACKTHUGGERYMATTERS

Ken Berwitz

So you\’re a mainstream media venue – one which has spent more than a year glossing over thuggery and calls to violence from the racist hate group, #blacklivesmatter. And now one of its big shots has been convicted of arson and burglary and is sentenced to 13 years in jail.

How do you explain that?

Well, the easiest way is not to explain it at all….which is why you have heard little or nothing about jessie ferguson – a #blacklivesmatter “leader” who has been front and center at many of the group\’s protests, has spoken at a rally concocted by al sharpton. and featured/glorified at (where else?) MSNBC.

The person in question is named joshua williams.  And as early as a year ago, Ryan Lovelace of National Review correctly pegged him as a violent thug whose “life story” seemed to change at will, depending on who he was talking to.

Now?  As Tom Blumer of newsbusters.org reports, williams will be a guest of the California correctional system for a nice, long stretch.

Don\’t expect to see or hear much more about him from the folks who lionized him in the past.  Don\’t expect any more invites from al sharpton, or “we love you Joshua” paeans to his value at MSNBC.

And don\’t expect to see major coverage of his sentence – and why he received it (for burglarizing, then torching, a convenience store) – in a many of our mainstream media venues.

Why do you suppose?  Because they are fiercely neutral journalists who are eager to cover all sides of a story?  Or because they are partisans, happy to provide strong coverage when the narrative is what they would like it to be, and equally happy to bury a story when that narrative goes south on them?

You tell me.
