Ken Berwitz
I have a bit of information, then a few questions, for the “journalists” at the New York Daily News, who decided that yesterday\’s front page should accuse Republican presidential candidates of being “cowards” (yes, that is the exact word they used) for offering condolences and prayers to the families of the people killed and injured at the San Bernardino Inland Regional Center.
First the information: today\’s front page of the New York Times has an article which starts with these two paragraphs:
The Republicancandidates for president angrily demanded on Friday that the United States faceup to a new world war, one that has breached its borders, threatened the safetyof Americans and brought the menace of Islamic terrorism deep into the homeland.
With strikingunanimity, they accused President Obama and his fellow Democrats of shrinkingfrom a long-overdue assault on the Islamic State and its frighteninglyeffective tools of global recruitment.
Now the questions.
Do you think that what the Republican candidates are proposing is cowardice?
Does the fact that Barack Obama has remained either stunningly ignorant of, or stunningly indifferent to, the growth of ISIS over the past two years, and done nothing like what Republicans are demanding, mean that he is a coward?
Does the fact that none of the three Democrat presidential candidates – Hillary Clinton, Bernard Sanders or Martin O\’Malley -are demanding such action make them cowards?
Just a few more questions:
You called out the National Rifle Association for this terrorist attack as if, somehow, it was the responsible party.
Do you think ISIS had anything to do with the San Bernardino attack, or was it all the NRA\’s doing?
If the NRA were to suddenly disappear tomorrow, would that end the terrorist attacks, or would they continue?
And if there were terrorist attacks afterwards, then would you mind telling us who the eff would be responsible then?
