THE QUOTE OF THE DAY

Today’s quote comes to us from California Governor Gavin Newsom.  It was made regarding the primaries which – in the initial count/before the “mail-in ballots” are counted which, in California a) takes weeks and b) always are amazingly favorable to Democrats.

Governer Newsom was asked about the primaries which, after the initial count, have Republican Spencer Pratt facing off against incumbent Democrat Karen Bass for Mayor of Los Angeles and Republican Steve Hilton facing off against Democrat Xavier Becerra for Governor.

Here is what he said:

“We all have agencies. We can shape the future. I don’t anticipate this being the case, but there is a ‘break the glass scenario.’ There are many people who have a deep understanding of what it would look like if Democrats were locked out, and we’re going to do everything to make sure that doesn’t happen. I’ll leave it there.”

What does that mean?  What does it look like it means?

Does it look to you the way it looks to me?  As a not-very-clever way of saying “Don’t worry about the vote counts, we have a system in place that can get rid of those Republicans”?

I award Gavin Newsom Quote Of The Day dishonors, for, at least in my eyes, making it plain that, in California, a fair count of votes is nothing more than fantasy for Republicans.

I hope you are not surprised.
