If this isn’t good news, what is?
Until a few days ago, the Gulf of Oman, which connects to the Strait Of Horumuz, then the Arabian Sea, and out to the ocean, was heavily “protected” by Iranian ships. There were 11 warships ready to blockade and intercept any tanker attempting to get through.
Now there are none. If Centcom has it right, every one of those ships has been hit and sunk. Not one remains.
Why is this important? Because about 20% of the world’s entire oil supply goes through the Persian Sea, then the Strait of Hormuz, the Gulf of Oman, and out to to the Arabian Sea and Indian Ocean.
And now, if the tankers holding that oil can get through the Persian Sea (which borders Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and Oman) there is not one Iranian warship in the Gulf to stop them.
What we are not being told – at least not yet – is what resources Iran still has to prevent tankers from traveling through the Persian Sea and the Strait of Hormuz.
Our objective is to demolish Iran’s entire navy. If/when that happens, it will have no ability to stop those tankers other than missile attacks (which, if accurately launched, can certainly have an affect.
Remember – the action against Iran is still only a few days old. Let’s wait and see how this goes.
