THE FLOYD DEATH AND THE KIRK DEATH: NOTICE A DIFFERENCE?

They say that karma is a bitch.

I would say that, as of now, Democrats are finding that out in a big way.

When George Floyd died in police custody, with Officer Derek Chauvin’s knee on his neck for an extended period of time, the left erupted.  There were massive riots around the country, resulting in massive damage and massive violence.  At least 25 people, including a number of police officers, were killed.

Floyd, despite his history as a serial criminal, a drug addict, and despite the fact that the police had been called because he was breaking the law again (trying to pass counterfeit money), has become a major hero of the left.  An area of Minneapolis is now called “George Floyd Square”, complete with a bust of him, murals, etc.  There are statues and busts of him in several other states as well.

Helluva hero.

And now we have Charlie Kirk.

Charlie Kirk was neither a criminal nor a violent man.   He was the head of an organization, Turning Point USA, that speaks to conservative values.  His organization was reviled by the left, which worked actively to disallow it from operating on many college campuses.  And on the campuses where it was functional, there were instances of leftists overturning the tables with information about the organization and destroying their materials.

Unlike Floyd, Kirk was not killed while breaking the law.  He was killed while speaking, peacefully and respectfully, to a crowd of thousands who had come to hear him.  His apparent murderer, tyler robinson, although raised in a conservative household, was indoctrinated into the hard left and, based on his writing and social media posts, had become convinced that killing Kirk was a service to the world.

So what has happened since?

Have conservatives rioted?  Has there been massive damage to cities across the country?  Have they killed numbers of people, including police officers?

No, no and no.

What has happened is that tributes to Kirk have poured out from across the country and colleges/universities have been overwhelmed with requests to establish Turning Point USA chapters.

Another thing that has happened is that a large, and growing, number of leftists who went public with absolute glee over Kirk’s murder have been either suspended or terminated from their jobs – the most visible being jimmy kimmel.

And the left – which has successfully stifled conservative viewpoints being available to college and university students around the country for years – is outraged.  How dare anyone react negatively to our side laughing and celebrating a political murder?

So there is your difference.  And there, also, is a classic case of what goes around comes around.

There will be more to say about this in subsequent blogs.
