THE QUOTE OF THE DAY

Today’s quote comes to us from Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL).

After learning that Charlie Kirk had been assassinated in Utah, Republicans in the House of Representatives wanted a moment of prayer for Mr. Kirk.  Democrats refused, with numbers of them shouting it down.

This was way too much for Rep. Luna.  She spontanously, loudly, said the following:

“Every damn one of you who called us fascists did this.

“You were too busy doping up kids, cutting off their genitals, inciting racial violence by supporting orgs that exploit minorities, protecting criminals, and stirring hate. YOU ARE THE HATE you claim to fight.

“Your words caused this. Your hate caused this. Charlie. His family. Those kids. No one deserved this. Enough is enough.”

Afterwards, according to Catherine Salgado’s article at pjmedia.com, Ms. Luna wrote the following on X:

My office has been receiving calls from individuals celebrating the assassination attempt on Charlie Kirk. I am disgusted by the level of depravity the Left has stooped to— including one caller who even demanded my location. All of this has been reported to our threats team.

I don’t like the fact that Rep. Luna generalized these charges against Democrats in general.  It is not true that all Democrats are on board with what she accused them of.

But much of what she said is certainly true of at least some – maybe a good many – Democrats.  And it has generated little other than silence from just about all of the others.

I award Anna Paulina Luna Quote Of The Day honors for emotionally, if not entirely accurately, voicing her obviously heartfelt outrage in public.  Maybe it will wake up some of the silent Democrats who do not hold with what their political counterparts are saying/doing, and cause them to go public with their anger as well.
