What do you do when the President of the United States – who you have been trashing daily…
…puts troops into Washington D.C. – which you have condemned…
…and the result is so positive that even the Democrat Mayor is thanking him?
If you’re Gavin Newsom, you pull your latest lying-weasel move – as described in Blake Jones’ article for politico.com:
SACRAMENTO, California — Gavin Newsom announced Thursday he’s sending new teams of state police to major California cities —contrasting the effort with Donald Trump’s unilateral deployment of National Guard troops in Los Angeles and Washington.
The California Highway Patrol troopers will target crimes like auto theft and drug dealing in Los Angeles, San Diego, inland regions and the San Francisco Bay Area. Trump recently threatened to send Guard members to San Francisco, saying he would “clean up” the city.
Newsom insisted he was “not reacting and responding to anything” relating to Trump and emphasized the state’s deployment, unlike the president’s, was not being done over the objections of local governments.
As it relates to the president in particular, he’s doing things to people, not with people, and it’s a point of profound, consequential contrast. He’s de facto militarizing American cities,” Newsom told reporters.
See, you’re supposed to believe that this sudden interest in protecting citizens in California’s cities has nothing to do with the contrast between crime there, and crime in Washington D.C. before versus after the National Guard was deployed.
In other words, you are supposed to be a SIP: someone who is either too Stupid, and/or too Ignorant, and/or too Partisan to see what is in front of your eyes.
And, truth be told, I don’t blame Newsom for treating you this way.
Why? Because despite his being a disastrously failed politician who, as Mayor of San Francisco, was instrumental in its awful decline and, as Governor of California, has overseen its free-fall, most of our wonderful “neutral” media have given him a free pass despite his ongoing record of abject failure.
They gush over his clever remarks and how creatively he trolls/insults President Trump. But how often do they inform viewers/readers about the state’s poverty rate (highest in the country at 18.9%), school performance (at or near the worst in the country, or residents and major businesses running, not walking to leave because of factors such as crime, massive regulations and over-taxation?
Newsom continues to get his free ride. So he can continue to be the failed, lying weasel he is.
But you know better now. And maybe someday our media will start acting like they are supposed to practice neutral journalism instead of Democrat rationalizing/propagandizing and talk about the real Gavin Newsom.
What a refreshing change that would be.
