The previous blog promised to explain what a horror show Andrew Cuomo’s covid policy was; how it almost certainly caused the death of untold numbers of seniors in nursing homes.

NURSING HOME DEATHS: PROTECTING CUOMO (AND OTHER DEMOCRATS)
Thousands of seniors died of COVID-19 in New York State nursing homes (along with several other states) last year.
One of the major reasons – arguably, the single biggest reason – was that Governor Andrew Cuomo signed off on a mandate that forced those nursing homes to take in COVID-19 patients, regardless of whether they had any ability to isolate them from the general population.
In fact, the mandate forbade those nursing homes from even testing patients to find out whether new admissions, or re-admissions, from hospitals, had the virus.
That seems impossible, doesn’t it? The mandate couldn’t have said that, right?
Uh…wrong. Here is the mandate in its entirety, and here is its fifth paragraph:
No resident shall be denied re-admission or admission to the NH solely based on a confirmed or suspected diagnosis of COVID-19. NHs are prohibited from requiring a hospitalized resident who is determined medically stable to be tested for COVID-19 prior to admission or readmission.
That clear enough for you?
Not surprisingly, there was an outcry for an investigation of Cuomo’s astonishingly horrific, deadly mandate – which you might not know about, because most of what passes for our mainstream media, Cuomo being a Democrat in good standing, barely have reported about it. It has been consigned to the same media dumpster as the information from Hunter Biden’s laptop that show Joe Biden as a liar who used his power and influence to enrich his son (and would have these same media screaming for the resignation and prosecution of any Republican who did the same).
Well, the Department of Justice under that same Joe Biden has now decided that, nah, it’s not worth investigating the nursing home horror.

The Department of Justice has decided not to investigate whether the civil rights of residents in New York’s government-run nursing homes were violated by Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s controversial admission policy related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a letter Friday, the DOJ’s Office of Legislative Affairs told US Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.), ranking member of that House Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Crisis, that New York was off the hook in connection with potential violations of the Civil Rights of Institutionalized Persons Act.
In August, the DOJ’s Civil Rights Division requested information from New York in connection with a March 25, 2020, order from the state Department of Health that required nursing homes to admit “medically stable” COVID-19 patients discharged from hospitals.
It also sought records from Pennsylvania, Michigan and New Jersey, which adopted similar rules that the DOJ said “may have resulted in the deaths of thousands of elderly nursing home residents.”
“We have reviewed the information provided by these states along with additional information available to the Department,” Deputy Assistant Attorney General Joe Gaeta wrote Friday.
“Based on that review, we have decided not to open a CRIPA investigation of any public nursing facility within New York, Pennsylvania, or Michigan at this time.”
Do you need me to tell you that every one of these Governors, who are now off the hook, are Democrats?
Hey, what’s thousands and thousands of seniors anyway? I mean they all were going to die anyway, right?
And – other than the Post and a precious few other media venues, this too will be buried by the compromised partisan propagandists who run most major media in this country. The general population will never know about it.
I would say that this has to change. But, at least for the moment, I don’t see a way it can happen.
We are in trouble. A lot of it.
