Remember how amazingly – unbelievably (you can take that literally) – the secret service failed when thomas matthew crooks attempted to assassinate Donald Trump during his campaign event in Butler, Pennsylvania last July 13?
Remember that people were screaming that there was someone (crooks) on that roof – which was prime territory for an assassination attempt and should have been covered every second even if the crowd didn’t notice him?
Remember that crooks got off those shots at Trump anyway? And that the only reason Trump is alive today because of his bad aim rather than anything the secret service did?
Well here we go again.

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem fell victim to a thief while eating dinner at a downtown Washington, DC, restaurant Sunday night, the secretary confirmed Monday.
The Secret Service, which provides security for Noem, reviewed security camera footage at the restaurant and saw an unknown white male wearing a medical mask steal her bag and leave the restaurant, a law enforcement source said.
The thief got away with Noem’s driver’s license, medication, apartment keys, passport, DHS access badge, makeup bag, blank checks, and about $3,000 in cash.
The Secret Service has launched an investigation to trace any use of Noem’s financial instruments, the person added.
Did we read that correctly? Did a masked man get close enough to Kristi Noem, our supposedly protected DHS Secretary, to steal her bag? And then be able to take it and leave without being stopped?
HOW could this possibly be, other than that he was given a free shot at Secretary Noem?
Please tell me you can figure out a way to believe otherwise. Because – like the Trump assassination attempt – I am having enormous trouble finding one.
The sooner our “secret (dis)service – what would you call it – is overhauled, the better. Starting right now.
