Is this really all they’ve got? It isn’t working, but they keep doing it anyway.
The latest purveyor of Trump = nazis is James Carville.
Carville, who is 80 years old and hasn’t been put in charge of running anything for years and years, keeps being quoted by media because the fact that he is angry and unpredictable might attract a few extra viewers.
Here, from Carville’s podcast last Friday, is what he has to say about law firms, corporations, and presumably anyone else, willing to work with/not oppose Donald Trump – who, you may remember, the people of this country just elected President of the United States:
“How disgraced must these law firms feel now? How disgraced must these companies that are sucking up to him – that are giving him tens of millions of dollars for access. Do you know what’s going to happen? Do you know how this ends? Do you know these collaborators, what the country is going to feel towards collaborators with this regime? Maybe you need to go in history and see what happened in August of 1944 after Paris was liberated. They didn’t take very kindly to the collaborators. No. It was not a very pretty sight in the streets of Paris.”
“I’m not saying that these people should be placed in pajamas and have their head shaved, marched down Pennsylvania Avenue and spit on. I’m not saying that, but I’m saying that that did happen. And I’m saying that these people betrayed the French nation in the same way that I think that these law firms and these giant corporate conglomerates are betraying the United States. What their comeuppance is I can only guess. I don’t believe in any kind of, don’t believe you should assault anybody.”
Got that? If you work with the President of the United States – you know, the guy who voters chose over the Democrat alternative less than a half year ago – you are the same as nazi collaborators. You are betraying your country (again, the country which voted for the guy you are working with). And I’m not saying you should be assaulted, but…..(wink, wink).
Forgetting for a moment that James Carville is an over the hill nobody with a big, uncontrolled mouth, let’s just think about his “point” (if you can call it that).
Oh, wait. I can’t think about his “point”. Because I can’t figure out what it is. How do you betray the country by supporting/working with the guy voters put into the oval office? Using that “logic”, wouldn’t you be betraying the country if you supported/worked with the people voters didn’t put into the Oval Office?
As for Carville, I guess when you’re 80 and your own party doesn’t value you anymore, you get angry, bitter and say things as dumb/obnoxious as the tired, overused, ridiculous “Trump = nazi” routine….
…which, at this point, is guaranteed to elicit little more than a yawn from whoever still bothers to listen to him.
Asking again: is this really all they’ve got?
