Did you know the United Nations hires “special rapporteurs – outside “experts” to investigate and advise this once-great body – regarding situations in various parts of the world?
Did you know there was a “Special Rapporteur For The Palestinian Territories”? That her name is francesca albanese? That she is from Italy?…
…and that she overtly hates Israel?
I can assure you that Israel knows this full-well. But so does the United States. And now that albanese is up for re-appointment, here – from a just-published article in the Jerusalem post – is what we are trying to do about it:
The United States mission to the United Nations sent a letter to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Thursday stating that it opposes the renewal of Francesca Albanese‘s role as UN Special Rapporteur due to her “virulent antisemitism, which demonizes Israel and supports Hamas,” the mission confirmed on X/Twitter.
“She has clearly violated the UN’s code of conduct and is unfit for her role,” their post continued.
“Her reappointment would show the UN tolerates antisemitic hatred and support for terrorism,” the post concluded.
On Tuesday, Rep. Brian Mast – the chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee – sent a letter to the UN President of the Human Rights Council expressing objection to Albanese’s term renewal, which would involve a second term of three years.
“Special Rapporteur Albanese has failed to uphold the code,” he wrote. “She has consistently aligned herself with Hamas terrorists, accused Israel of genocide, likened the Government of Israel to the “Third Reich,” and compared Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to Adolf Hitler.”
“Ms. Albanese unapologetically uses her position as a UN Special Rapporteur to purvey and attempt to legitimize antisemitic tropes, while serving as a Hamas apologist.”
Following the Hamas massacre on October 7, Albanese wrote that “violence must be put in context” and that the attack occurred in response to Israeli “aggression.”
If you have followed the performance of the United Nations when it comes to Israel, the fact that it would be OK with an Israel-hater like albanese to be in charge of fact-finding shouldn’t be any surprise to you at all. The United Nations hates Israel as much as she does.
Want proof? How about this:
-From 2015 through 2022, the UN General Assembly issued a total of 208 condemnations worldwide: 140 against Israel and 68 against every other country combined. That includes horror shows like North Korea, Iran, Somalia, Syria, etc. etc. etc.
-In 2023 the UN issued 21 condemnations: 14 against Israel and 7 against every other country combined.
-In 2024 the UN issued 23 condemnations: 17 against Israel and 6 against every other country combined.
A world filled with hatred, discrimination, ethnic cleansing and genocide. But the UN treats Israel – a democracy, with a 20% Arab population that has full rights, including the right to vote and holds significant positions in government – as if it were dramatically worse than the dozens and dozens of freedomless, violent hellholes around the world whose people don’t even dream about the freedoms Israel provides its citizens.
The United Nations has fallen so far from what it used to be and what it is supposed to be that it is now a sick joke. Any day we – I would hope along with most other democracies – leave this sick joke will be fine with me.
