Elon Musk is stepping down from the Department Of Government Efficiency (DOGE). He says he will continue into May…but, though not in that position, will still be available in some capacity to the Trump administration.

Elon Musk isn’t afraid to make changes.
On Thursday, Musk said he plans to step down from his role in DOGE in the spring.
He made more news on Friday, when he confirmed X, the former Twitter that he purchased in 2022, has been sold to xAI, his artificial intelligence company.
The head of Tesla said he plans on stepping away in May during a Fox News interview with six members of his Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) team.
Musk said he was overseeing a “revolution” in government.
“I think we will have accomplished most of the work required to reduce the deficit by $1 trillion within that time frame,” Musk said.
How effective as Musk been in this capacity? Enormously so; I am sure both supporters and detractors will agree.
How beneficial will his efforts be? That remains to be seen – though it seems to me that the uncovering of countless ulimited-taxpayer-money scams, regardless of other considerations, is absolutely enormous.
Is Mr. Musk’s departure related to the national spate of hatred, vandalism and violence against Tesla cars and their owners? It wouldn’t surprise me at all.
The take-no-prisoners left has proven, again, that with a compliant, complicit media, you can lie about someone – in this case the claim that Musk made a nazi salute, which was accomplished by extracting a still photograph from when he clutched his heart and “threw” it out to a cheering audience.
Benighted SIPS* all around the country bought this lie (as they bought the “Trump said nazis are very fine people” lie 8 years ago) and our allegedly neutral media were happy to either look the other way or pretend that it was true.
So now Musk will leave…and the left wing haters will be happy to pick a different target; something they are very good at.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: when it comes to intolerance, hatred and violence, the hard left of this country takes a back seat to no one.
