THE QUOTE OF THE DAY

Today’s quote comes to us from MSNBC superstar Rachel Maddow (she must be, she gets higher ratings than anyone else there).

Maddow, who is far to the left even by MSNBC standards has this to say about the attacks on Tesla – its dealerships and the drivers of its cars – that have become all too frequent since Elon Musk was appointed by the hated (to Maddow and most MSNBCers) to root out government inefficiency:

“Even after President Trump and his top campaign donor and the Attorney General, Pam Bondi, all started threatening Americans who don’t support Elon Musk’s car company, they started threatening people that they’d be hit with terrorism charges or that these — boycotting Tesla or protesting against Tesla was somehow specially illegal in a way that other forms of protests aren’t, which is nonsense legally, but they issued the threats anyway, even after those threats last week from Trump, from Musk, from Attorney General Pam Bondi, there were dozens and dozens and dozens of protests at Tesla dealerships all over the country this weekend.”

“(The protests were) this simple and now, defiant message, just asking people, simply, if you drive a Tesla, please sell it, and if you own stock in Tesla, please dump it.”

Uh, Rachel….

…maybe you should consider reading this segment from an article by Matt Lavietes at what, until now, has been your parent company, NBC:

There have been at least a dozen of vandalism against Tesla vehicles, dealerships or charging stations in recent weeks, according to police and local reports, underscoring the backlash Musk has faced since taking on an unprecedented role in the federal government.

On Jan. 29, a 40-year-old woman threw a Molotov cocktail at a Cybertruck parked at a dealership in Loveland, Colorado, according to police.

The woman, Lucy Grace Nelson, allegedly returned to the dealership four more times in recent weeks to cause further damage. She hurled more Molotov cocktails, attempted to set the dealership ablaze and spray-painted the words “nazi cars” on the building, before ultimately being arrested last week, Loveland police said. Musk has been accused of supporting antisemitic claims and insulting victims of Nazism.

About 2,000 miles east, more than half a dozen Tesla charging stations were intentionally set on fire near Boston, police said last week. At a Tesla dealership in nearby Dedham, Massachusetts, police said Tuesday that a man spray-painted three vehicles, marking the second time the dealership was tagged within the last two weeks.

On the West Coast, in Tigard, Oregon, police said last week that at least seven shots were fired at a Tesla dealership there that morning, damaging three cars and shattering windows.

And on Friday, a man ignited beer bottles and hurled the bottles at a Tesla charging stations in North Charleston, according to police. While doing so, the man accidentally lit his clothes on fire, police said.

Uh…is this what Trump and his people referenced?  Is this your idea of asking, please, that consumers not buy Teslas and sell the ones they’ve already bought?

And while you’re pondering that, please also take into consideration that Mr. Lavietes’ article was published a week and a half ago…and there have been additional violent incidents against Tesla dealerships/owners since then.

I award Rachel Maddow Quote Of The Day “honors” for reminding me – again, as she does regularly – that she is so far to the left that it causes her to make incredibly stupid, ridiculous comments/attacks….and that the, er, quality of these attacks, evidently, is why MSNBC pays her the big bucks.
