Today’s quote comes to us from Senator John Fetterman (D?-PA) (I put a question mark after his party designation because I am increasingly unsure of whether he is going to remain a Democrat).
Here is what Senator Fetterman called the Democrats’ pitiful performance during President Trump’s speech on Tuesday, when they would not stand nor clap for a young brain cancer survivor or a young woman permanently injured by a male playing in a women’s volleyball match or the mother and daughter of a young woman murdered by an illegal alien, etc.:
“A sad cavalcade of self-owns and unhinged petulance. It only makes Trump look more presidential and self restrained.
We’re becoming the metaphorical car alarms that nobody pays attention to. And it may not be the winning message.”
The only thing I disagree with is Fetterman’s use of the words “it may not” in the last sentence. Based on the polling I have seen, those words should have been “it has no chance in the world of being”.
That aside, I award Senator John Fetterman Quote Of The Day honors for having the honesty to say out loud what, I strongly suspect, a great many other Democrats are thinking, about what amounts to their party’s political suicide.
One other thing: when John Fetterman won his senate seat I saw him – correctly at the time, I still think – as a debilitated and somewhat unhinged victim of personal issues. His transformation into not only a fully functional senator but a major voice of reason and logic is, to me, nothing short of remarkable.
