Today’s quote comes to us from former tennis great Martina Navratilova.
Though certainly no Republican, Ms. Navratilova, strongly supports President Trump’s “Keeping Men out of Women’s Sports,” executive order. And she has little other than disdain for Democrats who object to it.
Her exact words:
“I hate that the Democrats totally failed women and girls on this very clear issue of women’s sports being for females only.”
More Dems need to step up here. I know many who agree but are scared to speak up because of re-election. I say do the right thing. Grow a spine.”
Is Ms. Navratilova correct in saying Democrats totally failed women and girls?
The answer is no – in the sense that she is generalizing this position to all Democrats. As she herself points out, there are Democrats who agree men have no place competing in women’s sports. And, as she also points out, there is fear among those Democrats that if they say so it will be problematic for them among some – some – Democrat voters.
But that “Grow a spine” ending? Dead-on correct.
It is time – long past time – for moderate/centrist Democrats to speak up and work toward retrieving their party from the “woke” far-leftists who have taken it over and moved it so far left of the mainstream.
These “woke” usurpers do not represent all Democrats. My guess is that they don’t represent even most Democrats. But as long as they are left in charge they are the face of their once-great party.
