Today we have two Paragraph Of The Day winners.
The first paragraph comes to us from John Hinderaker, of powerlineblog.com:
Terrorists havingnothing to do with Islam, armed with AK-47s and hand grenades, screamed “Allahuakbar!” as they attacked the Radisson Blu hotel inBamako, Mali. The non-Muslim terrorists have killed at least three people andare holding approximately 170 hostages. In an ecumenical gesture, theterrorists allowed hostages to leave if they were able to recite from theQuran.
Sarcastic? Yes. But does it make a point? You bet it does.
I have written numbers of blogs reminding readers that to be a Muslim is not to be a terrorist or terrorist sympathizer. I, of course, stand by that assessment, on the grounds that it is true – don\’t need anything more than that.
But I have also written numbers of blogs about the fact that there are a great many radical Islamic lunatics, and millions of others who either support them silently or are too scared to speak against them. I stand by those blogs as well, for the same reason – that they are true.
Yet we have a President, three Democrat presidential aspirants, and many others, who think it is acceptably PC to pretend they don\’t exist – even as they are showing us all too clearly that they do.
John Hinderaker wins Paragraph Of The Day award for showing this to be as stupid as it is……and just as dangerous as it is stupid.
================================
The second Paragraph Of The Day comes to us from Mark Finkelstein, writing for newsbusters.org. Mr. Finkelstein wrote that, on today\’s edition of “Morning Joe”, Joe Scarborough started with a report by the ridiculously biased MSNBC correspondent Ayman Mohyelden, who was reporting about the same Mali terrorist attack referenced by John Hinderaker:
The very first words out of Mohyeldin\’s mouth were”it\’s important to emphasize we still don\’t know the identity of thesegunmen who have taken the hotel hostage.” Great point, Ayman. I mean,sure, they were yelling Allah Akhbar, and released hostages who could recitepassages from the Koran. But can anyone prove they\’re not a bunch of Yale fratboys on early Spring Break wearing hideously inappropriate Halloween costumes?Or perhaps some insufficiently sensitive Mizzou administrators invading thesafe space of the hotel guests?
I will assume you don\’t need me to explain why Mark Finkelstein joins John Hinderaker in winning today\’s award.
