SEIG DONALD

Donald Trump is again surging in the polls – because, a couple of days after providing his “bomb the shit out of them” strategy for ISIS, the radical islamic lunatics of that group attacked in Paris, killing 130 people and injuring hundreds of others.

You\’d think that even an over-the-top bloviator like Trump would know that this would be a good time to keep his mouth shut and let events justify his comments to voters.

But Donald Trump doesn\’t know how to do that.  His “shut the eff up for once” chip is missing.  So here\’s his newest “strategy”, as excerpted from Sarah Berger\’s article for the International Business Times – with Ben Carson right alongside:

“We\’re going to haveto do things that we never did before,” Trump told Yahoo News when asked ifhe might require registering Muslims in a database or giving them a form ofspecial identification that noted their religion. “Some people are going to beupset about it, but I think that now everybody is feeling that security isgoing to rule.”

Meanwhile, Carson –who has called on the Congress to cut off funding to programs used to bringrefugees to the U.S. — likened Syrian refugees to rabid dogs, and saidallowing them into the United States would put Americans at risk.

“If there is arabid dog running around your neighborhood, you\’re probably not going to assumesomething good about that dog,” Carson said Thursday at a campaign event inMobile, Alabama, Reuters reported.

Lovely, Donald.

Here\’s a good way to implement your idea:  how about every Muslim wearing a visible patch with a crescent wherever they go, so we can all single them out?  Wouldn\’t that be great?

I wonder if the German company that made patches with the Star of David for Jews during WWII is still in business.  They would have the know-how and, since Trump is such a terrific deal-maker, might give us a good discount too.

As for Ben Carson\’s generalization, let\’s just hire a national team of dog-catchers, round \’em all up and put \’em in cages.

Look, I am an avid supporter of strong security measures.  I support full vetting of people coming to us from places where terrorism is a way of life – which absolutely includes Syria.  But I also recognize that there are people fleeing those places because terrorism is a way of life.

I\’ve said it before and I\’ll say it again:  I have spent enough time with enough Muslims in my life to know – not guess, but know – that the stereotype of all Muslims as hate-filled jihadists looking to end Western Civilization and put us under shari\’a law is not true.

It is true for some Muslims – far too many.  And far too many Muslims are silent about it, which can be interpreted as a form of passive support.  That is undeniable.

But it is every bit as undeniable that millions and millions and millions of Muslims want nothing more than to live peaceful lives, and leave others to live just as peacefully.

The minute we generalize about entire groups of people, as if there are no differences between them, is the minute we lose our own humanity.

So thank you for your trip down memory lane, Mr. Trump but, somehow, being part of the fourth reich is not my style.
