THE “MUSK IS PRESIDENT” STRATEGY

Democrats, in unison, are now assuring us that Elon Musk is our incoming President (to some, he’s already in office) and Donald Trump is just a pathetic figurehead.

And, dutifully, ever faithful to their masters, I’m reading/viewing it in a good many of our media venues as well.

Nikolas Lanum, at foxnews.com, has written an article talking about this latest, thoroughly concocted out of thin air, attack line.  Here is how it starts:

Liberal media outlets and Democratic lawmakers have grasped onto a new talking point as the incoming administration gets ready to enter the White House — Elon Musk is a “shadow” president, taking the reins from President-elect Donald Trump.

House GOP leaders are working toward a backup plan after an initial bipartisan deal to avoid a partial government shutdown was killed by conservative opposition led by Musk, Trump’s pick to co-chair his Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), alongside Vivek Ramaswamy.

“Your elected representatives have heard you and now the terrible bill is dead. The voice of the people has triumphed! VOX POPULI. VOX DEI,” Musk posted on X Wednesday.

A plethora of prominent figures across the media then insinuated that Musk was pulling the strings inside Trump’s team.

Lanum then goes on to list out Democrat after Democrat, media venue after media venue, parroting the same talking point.

So let me get this straight:  Elon Musk is put in a responsible position, Elon Musk makes a statement that countless Republicans could (and probably did) make as well…..so Donald Trump is now a puppet President, with Elon Musk pulling the strings.

Is this their way of getting past the lie they told for four years that Joe Biden was competently acting as President?  Is the premise something like “See, you can’t talk about Biden because it’s just as true of Trump”?

Could this ridiculous farce possibly work?  Probably for some of the more owned-and-operated Democrat partisans out there.  But, I assume (well, I very much hope) few, if any others will buy the BS they are selling.

If it works, that’s all you’ll be hearing for an indefinite period of time going forward.  If it doesn’t work, it will magically disappear (think of the claim that the Trump/Vance ticket was “weird”, that we heard incessantly for a week or two during the election campaign, and then suddenly disappeared).

I guess we’ll find out one way or the other soon enough.
