If you hold a debate at 9PM on a Saturday night and you do not want people to see it.
Which explains why the Debbie Wasserman Schultz-led DNC made sure the latest Democrat debate was heald at 9PM last night.
Simply stated, Wasserman Schultz, along with much of the Democrat establishment, wants Hillary Clinton to be the nominee. And since, in the absence of Joe Biden, Clinton is now the prohibitive favorite, the fewer people who see the debate, the better she likes it.
Put in fewer words, the fix is in.
And DWS isn\’t the only one. Here is the teaser for CBS News\’s article on the debate, pulled straight from their web page:
“Democratic voters are largely satisfied with Hillary Clinton so far, but in the CBS News debate, her Democratic opponents tried to take her down a notch”
And here are a couple of “by the way” lines within the article:
While Clinton has beena polarizing figure nationally over the years, she has so far seen most of the Democratic Party happily coalesce around herahead of the 2016 elections.
Clinton did acommendable job defending her record and her proposals for the future…
Now there\’s a great show of hard-hitting journalism. Ms. Clilnton\’s mother could have written those words.
Personally I did not see the debate itself. It was Saturday night, you see, and we were in New York City celebrating our beautiful daughter in law\’s milestone birthday (no I won\’t tell you which one). But, then again, that was the idea, wasn\’t it?
One final note about being in Manhattan: we came in through the Lincoln Tunnel, picked up our son, and headed downtown. It was a late reservation (8:45), so this was after the theater crowd had already gotten in. But, in all the years I have driven there – other than when a specific event was causing it – I do not remember hitting this much traffic on a Saturday night.
But as I sat in the driver\’s seat, exasperated by how difficult it was to get where we were going, I was comforted by the fact that the attacks in Paris apparently did not cause New Yorkers to skip a beat.
Good.
