MORE REAL RACISM

Ken Berwitz

No, this is not a repeat of the previous blog.

In Berkeley Califorinia, thousands of students walked out of the city\’s high schools in protest, after a racist message was left on a school computer, slurring Black people and calling for a ku klux klan lynching…

…except, the school was able to identify who put the message up, and it turned out to be a freshman student – apparently Black (I derive that because neither the Washington Post nor Los Angeles Times article nor the San Francisco Chronicle article will say.

As for the school Principal, Sam Pasarow…when the culprit was unknown, he told us that the matter had immediately been reported to the police.  This was a criminal matter.  But now that the student is known (again, the fact that there was no reference to his/her race strongly suggests the student is Black), Pasarow is singing a different tune.   Now his party line is “The student is going to face pretty serious consequences…I\’m certainly a leader who believes in[repairing] harm in lieu of traditional discipline.”

Way to go, Principal Pasarow.  Do you actually think this shows that you\’re not a racist…instead of that you are?  If so, you better start doing what you tell students to do:  thinking.

And is this some kind of isolated event?  Well, let\’s look at just the recent past:

-What about the Black church burnings in Saint Louis over the past couple of months…which now appears to have been perpetrated by a Black man?

-Or the “Walking while Black” incident in Dallas, Texas, last week, in which a woman – who turns out to be the Dean of University of North Texas\’s school of journalism – claimed she was subjected to racism by police simply for walking down the street…but which the video of the actual event showed to be a complete lie.

Aren\’t there enough incidents of real racism in this (and every other) country?  Is there some reason that people think they have to invent ones which do not exist?

Don\’t these geniuses realize that this makes THEM the racists?

I guess not.
